Galloway Waste Mangement

about us - galloway environmental waste management

Galloway Environmental Waste Management first started business in April 1996 under the business name of Ken Bay Waste Compaction and Recycling Systems Pty Ltd, importing a then state of the art Waste compaction machine from Ireland to provide dry waste compaction and recycling.

The potential for compaction systems enabling companies to reduce waste volume going into landfill was in great demand. Over the first two years of operation, the company gained considerable experience with waste compaction and removal services.

In 1998, the company decided to focus on a clean bin, flexible and variable recycling and removal service. To overcome the limitations of the Ken Bay compactor Galloway EWM designed an innovative and unique system incorporating a one cubic metre leak proof multi waste bin specifically designed to handle wet and putrescible waste. They also designed a side tipping truck body which was able to carry 12 compacted bins and empty them from either side of the truck without removing the bins from the truck. The rough terrain forklift attached to the back of the truck enabled bins to be collected from either ground level or the loading dock and enabled single person waste removal.

Galloway Environmental Waste Management Pty Ltd was born.

In June 2001 Galloway EWM developed a washbay and pits to further enhance the smooth operation of our yard. It also enabled the company flexibility to service customers to their specific needs.

In December 2002 Galloway EWM acquired the business of Alert Waste and on the same day expanded the yard at Seven Hills by acquiring the property next door being 14 Artisan Road.

In June 2003 the baler and conveyor belts were completed thus allowing the sorting of paper and cardboard to be effective and then baled for shipment overseas or onselling to the local market.

In June 2005 the company expanded and acquired No 16 Artisan road and was then able to segregate paper which made the process more streamlined so contamination was limited. In this area Galloway EWM also introduced Security Destruction services which is an on site shredding service.

At the same time construction began on our new Materials Recycling Facility which was finished in June 2006. This MRF operates as a licensed facility in Metropolitan Sydney with the ability to conduct a post collection segregation of Commercial Waste.
