Galloway Waste Mangement

waste audits

The purpose of a waste audit is to identify the real costs of waste to your business and how to reduce them. Galloway will assist you with an on site visit and environmental consultation that will provide your business with the framework to develop a good waste management plan and recycling program for your business.
Waste Audits are an essential management tool.

A waste audit

  • Defines the sources, quantities and types of waste generated
  • Identifies where, when and how these wastes are produced
  • Identifies areas of wastage and the problems associated
  • Evaluates alternatives to minimise the wastage of resources
  • Establishes priorities and targets for waste reduction

The 3 Simple steps when conducting a waste audit -

STEP 1 – Create a detailed plan for the audit

STEP 2 – Source the waste samples and gather the correct information
What are the waste streams being generated ?
Define the quantity of waste that is being generated ?
Who or which departments in the business is generating waste ?

STEP 3 – Develop an action plan for managing waste and create a waste management plan
What do you do with the information collected ?
What issues should be addressed first, how and by which departments in the business ?
What costs are involved in waste management and how can they be minimised ?
